Jones, Taylor Undergo Surgery, Shazier To Be Re-Evaluated

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without three players for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, but a familiar face is back in the mix.

During his weekly press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin said cornerback Ike Taylor had surgery on his broken forearm. A plate was inserted, but it is unknown how long he will be out.

As for Ryan Shazier, he will miss this week's game with a knee sprain. Tomlin said it is less significant than initially thought and he will be re-evaluated next week.

Linebacker Jarvis Jones underwent wrist surgery and has been placed on the Injured Reserve, Designated to Return list.

By rule, Jones will be out for a minimum of eight weeks. However, the move did free up a roster spot.

James Harrison announced his retirement on Sept. 5, but it didn't last long. Harrison signed with the Steelers Tuesday morning.

Tomlin said Harrison's level of physical conditioning and mental ability will determine how much he plays on Sunday.

He will also wear No. 92.
