Steelers Week 5 Injury Report With Frank Velasquez

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In his weekly "VESLA 360 Injury Report" exclusively on 937thefan.com, former Pittsburgh Pirates trainer Frank Velasquez takes a look at the Steelers Week 5 Injury Report.

The first player Velasquez takes a look at is Markus Wheaton, as he was limited to individual workout this week while dealing with a groin injury. Velasquez tells us what signs you look for to tell you a player is a full go when they're dealing with a groin injury.

"It's all about what the coaches are seeing," Velasquez said. "If he's playing at full speed, then subjectively, you're talking to the player, if it matches up with what they're seeing, then it's 'lets proceed forward.'"

Ramon Foster has also appeared on the injury report again this week after saying he was healthy enough last week to play, only to have the coaches sit him a day before the game. Foster has been dealing with an ankle injury he suffered three weeks ago, and Velasquez tells us the precautions he would take with a player in this situation.

"They're definitely taping it up, ankle brace, just throw him out there," Velasquez said. "He should be going this weekend if he was close last weekend."
