More Heat On The Gubernatorial Campaign Trail As Corbett Visits Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Superheroes showed up at Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning to greet Gov. Tom Corbett, a boost with polls showing him behind somewhere between seven to 17 points.

On one hot issue, Corbett refused to be drawn into the state Supreme Court's mess on Porngate.

"The Supreme Court has their rules. They have an ethics commission. We're going to let them decide," the governor told reporters at a very brief press conference, including KDKA political editor Jon Delano.

Corbett will sign a bill that could end municipal gun control efforts, but he wouldn't elaborate.

Delano: "Do you think Pittsburgh should be able to have its own gun control measures?"

Corbett: "We're not going to get into that. The bill is coming to my desk, and I'm going to sign the bill."

On taxes, Corbett claims Wolf will raise taxes 188 percent, citing a Conservative think tank.

"Commonwealth Foundation -- if you go look at the Commonwealth Foundation, they've analyzed what he has said. They've analyzed his spending. His spending is over $6 billion," said Corbett.

The Wolf campaign released old video to remind voters that Corbett once made remarks about women forced to have a sonogram under a proposed anti-abortion bill.

From the 2012 video:

Corbett: "As long as it's not obtrusive, but we're waiting to see."

Reporter: "Obtrusive? Making them watch? Does that go too far in your mind?"

Corbett: "I don't know how you can make anybody watch -- because you just have to close your eyes, but as long as it's on exterior, not interior."

KDKA asked Corbett about the Wolf attack.

Delano: "Do you support or not support mandatory exterior ultrasounds on women without their consent?"

Corbett: "What I will tell you, Jon, is they're getting desperate if they're going back to that. Everybody knows if you see the entire film clip of what I said that it's not what they are trying to imply."

Delano: "But do you support forced ultrasounds on women?"

Corbett: "I never support anything until you show me what the legislation is."
