Steelers' Week 8 Injury Report With Frank Velasquez

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In his weekly "VESLA 360 Injury Report" exclusively on 937thefan.com, former Pittsburgh Pirates trainer Frank Velasquez examines the Steelers' Week 8 injury report.

Things open up with Velasquez talking about the current status of Steelers rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier who said that he doesn't think he can get back to 100 percent in time for Sunday's game as he looks to return from a knee sprain that has had him sidelined.

"That's not something you hear much from professional athletes," Velasquez said. "We said it was about four weeks depending on the severity of the sprain, four to six weeks. That is a little concerning, the fact he said that. That puts a question mark in my mind."

Velasquez also takes a look at the recovery of Ike Taylor and Jarvis Jones as they look to get back on the field some time this season.

When it comes to Taylor's recovery from his broken forearm and the conditioning he has been going through, Velasquez said he could be "10 days to two weeks" away from returning to action.
