Flames Engulf Mt. Pleasant Business

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Flames destroyed a business in Westmoreland County overnight.

The fire broke out at Miller's Machine Shop on Hecla Road in Mount Pleasant around 4 a.m.

A woman who was on her way to work saw the fire and alerted a neighbor who called 911.

"The flames had already come through the roof," said Charlene Ereditario, who lives next door to the shop. "I dialed 911, and within 15 minutes the whole roof was engulfed."

She said the "flames were very high and very intense."

The fire also warped the siding on Ereditario's house.

Fire also damaged a house in Carrick on Saturday morning.

It started in the basement of a unit on Minooka Street before spreading to the roof.

And, in the East Hills, another fire ripped through a home just after midnight.

It started on the second floor of the house on East Hills Drive.
