NFL On CBS Analyst Chris Simms Discusses Being LeGarrette Blount's Teammate

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - NFL on CBS Analyst Chris Simms joined the Starkey and Mueller Show to talk about the Steelers cutting LeGarrette Blount, the favorite in the AFC North and Ben Roethlisberger's place amongst the elite in the league.

Simms expressed his disappointment about the actions of LeGarrette Blount by saying he committed one of the cardinal sins of being in an NFL locker room when he walked out on his teammates.

"It's unacceptable, totally abandoning your team, your teammates, your friends," Simms said. "Everything about it is unacceptable on the NFL level."

He added that during his time in Tennessee when he played with Blount, he always viewed him as a "top teammate" that worked pretty hard.

Simms also gave his opinion about the race in the competitive AFC North and said that Cleveland will fall apart, he can't get a read on Cincinnati and that it will all come down to the "old reliable" teams, the Steelers and Ravens.

Simms said the Ravens are a "battle-tested franchise" and that their losses have been more a product of them shooting themselves in the foot rather than them getting beat physically.

As for the Steelers, Simms credits Ben Roethlisberger, the running game and an improving defense as reasons why they were one of his favorites to win the division.

When asked if Ben Roethlisberger is under-appreciated, Simms said, "He is definitely under-appreciated," and that "Ben Roethlisberger is one of the all-time great quarterbacks the league has ever seen.
