Antonio Brown Earns Player Of The Week, Month Honors

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With two punt returns for 84 yards including a 71-yard touchdown return last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The punt return for a touchdown marked the third such return for Brown in his career, which ties him for second most in team history.

On the year, Brown has returned 30 punts for 319 yards, good for fourth in average yards per return at 10.6 in the AFC.

This is the second time in his career that Brown has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. The  last time came in Week 12 of the 2011 season after taking a punt 60 yards for a touchdown against the Bengals.

Brown was also named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month catching 33 passes for 440 yards and two touchdowns while helping the Steelers to a 4-0 record in the final month of the regular season.

On the year, Brown led the league in receptions with 129 and receiving yards with 1,698 and was tied for second in touchdowns with 13.

This is the first time in his career Brown has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month. He is also the first Steelers player to earn this award since Ben Roethlisberger was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month in November of 2013.

Brown is the third Steelers player this year to win an AFC Player of the Week award joining Ben Roethlisberger (Weeks 8 and 9) and Le'Veon Bell (Week 14), who were each named Offensive Player of the Week.
