Head Coach Pat Narduzzi Talks First Few Weeks At Pitt

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-Pitt Head Coach Pat Narduzzi joined The Cook and Poni Show on Friday.

Narduzzi admits he has had his hands full in the early days since he has taken over.

"There are so many things that need to be done and they all need to be done immediately," Narduzzi said. "Trying to get recruiting going at the same time you are hiring a staff so it helps if you have worked in a circus at some point in your life."

Narduzzi says his first thing he made sure to do was to call a team meeting to let the kids get to know him and what he is all about. He said it's been all about calling high school coaches and walking the halls of those high schools since.

He hopes to actually get a chance to start watching film and evaluating his team in February but he says he is not worried about what has happened prior to now.

"I am not worried about the past. I'm worried about where we are at now and where we can develop and put these kids in the best position," Narduzzi added.

He does know they has talent on this roster coming back especially on offense with QB Chad Voytik, WR Tyler Boyd and RB James Conner but is it enough to win and compete nationally?

"I would not have taken the job if I didn't think the personnel on the football team were able to win," Narduzzi said.
