Does It Really Do That: Wraptastic

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Have you had some fights with your plastic wrap? Maybe it tangles on you, or bunches up. maybe you've cut yourself on that blade.

Well, Wraptastic is all about improving your relationship with plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and more.

Does it really do that?

KDKA-TV viewer Racquel Buckner was happy to help us find out. Morning anchor/"Does It Really Do That?" reporter Jennifer Antkowiak visited Raquel to test Wraptastic.

Racquel is a fan of our consumer tests, and was looking forward to testing Wraptastic.

"I want to see if it works like it does on the commercial," she said.

We ordered our Wraptastic through Amazon, and it arrived in a plain brown box with two Wraptastic units, loaded with one free roll of plastic wrap and one free roll of foil, some labels, and our invoice, but no custom packaging, and no instructions.

So, when Jen found an extra plastic bar in the bottom of the unit under the wrap, she and Racquel had to guess where it should go, and how it should be attached.

They decided to give it a try, starting with the plastic wrap.

Just like the commercial says, Raquel tried to pull, press, and wrap, to cover a plastic bowl of leftovers.

She said pulling it out, and pressing took more energy than she expected.

She also didn't expect the Wraptastic to slide around the counter so much.

The unit has feet that have a rubbery insert, but the surface is very smooth, and they just didn't stay put.

So, Wraptastic claims to make it easier for you in the kitchen, just pull, press, and wrap,

Does it really do that?

Raquele says, "no."

"I would not suggest it. You're probably just better off using your kitchen scissors or doing it the old-fashioned way," Raquel said.
