Neal Huntington: Kang Working Hard To Fit In

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Pirates General Manager Neal Huntington joined Dan Zangrilli on Bucco Talk in Bradenton. Huntington talked about Jung Ho Kang working hard to fit in with the club.

"He's confident, he's bright, and he's very outgoing. He has worked his tail off to fit in with our guys. Andrew McCutchen grabs him and plays catch with him. Our guys have done a really nice job of welcoming him because they understand he's a good player, he's going to help us win games, and that's what we're here to do," Huntington said.

Huntington added Kang has been impressive in the early days of camp.

"He's done nothing but impress us so far in camp. It's thunder in the bat. Athletically, he's moved around well in the infield. We see hands, we see feet, we see arm strength, we see athleticism, we see some looseness to the body," Huntington said.

Huntington also discussed the team wanting to be proactive in giving players a day off.

"We're just talking once or twice a month, be very cognizant of where they are and be proactive in giving them a day off. It keeps your bench plugged in, it keeps them sharper but it also, playing a little bit less we believe will allow our guys to play better," Huntington said.
