Giant Eagle Recalls Cod Fillets & Paninis

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- Giant Eagle has issued recalls for two products it sells in its Giant Eagle and Market District supermarkets.

The first recall involves Japanese Breaded Cod Fillets, prepared and sold for the seafood department inside Giant Eagle and Market District stores.

The cod was sold through March 23 and has all lot codes up to and including March 26, 2015. There is an undeclared soy allergen in the cod. People who have an allergy, or severe sensitivity to soy, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they eat the fish.

The cod fillets have the UPC code of 68106 31470.

The second recall involves Little Italy Paninis, prepared and sold individually from the prepared foods department inside Giant Eagle and Market District stores through March 23, 2015.

There is an undeclared egg allergen in the paninis. Anyone with an allergy, or severe sensitivity to eggs, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they eat the paninis.

The paninis were sold individually from the prepared foods department with UPCs of:

  • 97525 20399 Little Italy Panini, Cold
  • 07369 20399 Little Italy Panini, Hot
