Jung-Ho Kang Battling Issues At The Plate

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Jung-Ho Kang will get some at bats at Pirates City with the minor leaguers, but it's not that big of a deal.

"He's working on timing, seeing more spin," Hurdle said. "Left-handed spin, right-handed spin, just trying to get him swings and reps. Same as anyone else when his timing is off a little bit, you try and find him at bats, find him swings."

Kang is currently 34th on the team with a .111 batting average and is 1 for his last 23 at bats.

"Sometimes what we are trying to do is share information with a translator," Hurdle said. "But again, you don't want to overwhelm the guy. You get 14 different players offering thoughts, everybody means well, but I think we need to limit the information and let the man play.

"We just have to let him hit and continue to work. Again, it's Spring Training, the number of at bats are minimal in my eyes. So we'll just keep working, we have a lot of guys who have work to continue to do. Thanks the beauty of Spring Training," Hurdle added.
