Wilmerding Shooting Leaves Man, 19, Dead

WILMERDING (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting late Wednesday night in Wilmerding.

According to police, the shooting happened just after 10 p.m. in the 600-block of Airbrake Avenue.

The victim was identified as Isaiah Coleman, 19, of Wilmerding. Allegheny County Lieutenant Andrew Schurman says he was shot once in the chest and the gunshot hit the top of his heart.

Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two young males were seen running away from the scene shortly after the shots were fired.

"From what we understand at this point, there were two black males – younger black males – seen fleeing the area immediately after the gunshot. Again, anybody who may have heard or saw anything in that area is asked to call the county police homicide unit," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.
