2 Officers Bitten By Dog In Troy Hill

TROY HILL (KDKA)- Two City of Pittsburgh police officers are recovering after being bitten by a dog.

The situation all happened along Lowrie Street in Troy Hill Sunday.

Officers were called to a home because the family had concerns that their son was kidnapped. When officers tried to enter the home to talk to the family, the family's dog escaped and bit both of the officers.

Animal officials were called to the scene. It took them a while to get the dog collared and one of the officers was bitten as the dog was being put into the animal control truck.

Both officers were treated for their injuries at UPMC Mercy Hospital.

The dog, a German Shepherd mix,  has been quarantined.

There is no word if anyone will face charges in the case.
