Three Houses Damaged By Fire In Rochester

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Firefighters were called to Beaver County Sunday evening after fire consumed three houses.

It started around 6:30 p.m. at a home in the 400-block of Park Street in Rochester.

"We came outside and saw smoke and fire coming out of the back porch door," said neighbor Roberta Frazzini. "It just completely blew up. She had two propane tanks in the back."

The fire ended up spreading to two neighboring homes. One of the homes was destroyed, while the other two homes had a lot of smoke, fire and water damage.

Two firefighters had to be treated for heat exhaustion, but are expected to be okay.

Several pets were rescued from the homes, but at least one pet was killed in the fire.

"It's a total mess," said John Sheline, who owns one of the homes burned in the fire. "It's a nice, close-knit community, everybody knows everybody else. It's a real tragedy, it's devastating."

Officials are investigating how this fire started.
