Tractor Trailer Flips On Ft. Duquesne Bridge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A driver was able to escape after a tractor trailer flipped on to its side on the Fort Duquesne Bridge Friday evening Downtown.

It happened on the off-ramp from I-279 around 7:30 p.m.

A man who works as an EMT happened to be driving by the scene when it happened. He tried to help the woman who was driving.

"The truck was coming down and as it was coming around, it was turning, leaning, and it hit that sign and it just slid the rest of the way," said Shane Diskin, the witness. "It was pretty crazy. She said glass is inside."

Diskin said the driver was able to climb out of the wreckage.

She was taken to the hospital, but appeared to be unhurt.
