Police Arrest Suspect In Fatal Shooting Outside Wilkinsburg Store

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting outside of a business in Wilkinsburg last month.

Allegheny County Police say they have charged Cory Jackson in the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Kelvaughn Hawthorne on July 15.

It happened outside of the Cousins Corner Store at the intersection of Laketon and Montier Streets.

Hawthorne was taken to a local hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Police say at least 10 shots were fired during the incident.

Jackson is charged with criminal homicide, weapons violations and tampering with evidence.

He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail while he waits to be arraigned.
