Former Steelers Impressed By Hines Ward's New Restaurant

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Hines Ward's Table 86 is officially open for business.

The new restaurant is getting rave reviews from some familiar faces.

Last night was a Steelers reunion of sorts.

Several players from the past gathered in support of Ward and his brand new restaurant and wine bar.

"I've always wanted to make an imprint on the city of Pittsburgh and start a business, create some jobs and this shows that Pittsburgh is home for me. It's a home away from home," Ward said.

The private event Tuesday night was packed with family, friends and a lot of familiar faces.

"We're having fun. I think it's a great restaurant, great location and we're excited for Hines and we just hope him all the best," Mel Blount said.

"Hines has really made a statement for himself. We're happy for him and we wish him all the best because he definitely deserves it," Louis Lipps said.

The restaurant is located in Seven Fields and offers a variety of food from the MVP Burger to pasta.

Some of the dishes with an Asian twist are recipes from Hines himself.

"This restaurant represents Hines so well because the food was delicious, everything was top notch, first class," Rocky Bleier said.

"Wonderful food, wonderful people. It's great to be here, I'm sorry if you see some ribs and spices in my beard, that's just part of it," Brett Keisel said.

You can try out the food, starting today as the restaurant and wine bar are now open to the public.

"I'm just ecstatic to open the restaurant and hopefully Table 86 will be here for a long time," Ward said.
