Ramon Foster: Dupree Scuffle Is Totally Behind Us

LATROBE (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster joined "The Fan Morning Show's" live broadcast from training camp in Latrobe on Friday to talk about the team as they prepare for their third preseason game.

Foster talked about the scuffle involving a couple of offensive linemen and rookie linebacker Bud Dupree, explaining that everyone has already put the dust-up behind them.

"That's camp," Foster said. "It's over and done with now, but that's camp. Those are some of the things that are going to happen...Bud's got some fire about him, man, and it was good to see that, but we'll leave it where it was. We'll move on from that and we'll leave it in Latrobe."

Foster discussed the difficult balance between competing and staying healthy during preseason games, explaining that you don't go easy on guys so much as you simply try not to do anything stupid.

"We're all pros," Foster said. "You get a guy, you're going to finish him, but to intentionally cut somebody or cause somebody harm in a preseason game when you know you've got at least another 16 to go, you've just got to watch out."

Foster explained that there can be a disconnect in this area, though, when you get young guys trying to make the team and earn their keep going up against vets that already have their role solidified and don't want to put themselves at risk.

"When you have older guys in with the younger guys, those [younger] guys are going hard enough to make the team," Foster said. "And the vets kind of get it a little bit, like alright, let's stay healthy out here until we get to next week's game, which is the dress rehearsal game, week three of preseason."
