Tractor-Trailer Crash Closes Part Of I-70 West

BUFFALO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A crash involving two tractor-trailers closed part of Interstate 70 Thursday morning.

According to police, the crash happened at mile marker 11 near Buffalo Township around 6 a.m.

Crews are working to remove an overturned tractor-trailer that is blocking both westbound lanes.

A detour is in place for westbound traffic.

The tractor-trailer was traveling west in the left lane when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the road and rolled over as the driver tried to regain control.

As a result, both westbound lanes were blocked. The driver suffered minor injuries.

A car swerved to avoid the truck, went off the road and rolled onto its side. That driver was not hurt.

Meanwhile, two other cars were unable to stop in time and struck the trailer. The drivers of the two vehicles suffered minor injuries.

Police believe the tractor-trailer was traveling too fast for the wet road conditions.
