Police Rescue Man Trapped Under Fallen Tree

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A police officer helped rescue a man stuck under a tree Saturday morning after hearing his cries for help.

Police say a State Trooper working speed enforcement on Route 28 heard someone screaming for help as he was driving through Tarentum.

After hearing the screams, the trooper noticed a truck near a wooded area and eventually found 52-year-old Thomas Lubresky, Jr. pinned under a 40-foot tree.

They say his chainsaw was still in the tree when they found him.

After unsuccessfully trying to pull Lubresky out from under the tree, the trooper and another police officer used a second chainsaw on the tree to help free him.

Lubresky told police he was cutting trees for firewood and was pinned for several hours.

He suffered moderate injuries to his leg and police say he could face trespass and other charges.
