Butler Co. Courthouse Locked Down After Man Punches Woman

BUTLER, Pa. (AP) - A Butler County courthouse was briefly locked down after a man punched a woman following a hearing.

Butler County Detective Scott Roskovski says Wednesday's incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been immediately filed.

Sheriff Michael Slupe says his staff locked down the courthouse about after the punching incident was reported about 9:45 a.m.

Slupe says that was done to keep the suspect in the building, but he had already left so the lockdown was lifted. The man was seen on surveillance video, however, and has been identified.

The sheriff says county detectives will determine whether the man will be charged. Slupe says the man and woman have a child together and the hearing was believed to be related to a domestic situation.
