Fayette Co. Mobile Home Fire Leaves 2 Dead

GEORGES TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Two people were killed in a Fayette County mobile home fire early Thursday morning.

According to the deputy coroner, the fire started around 3:30 a.m. on Ross Circle in Georges Township.

The two people found inside the home have been identified as 53-year-old Patty Hardin and 45-year-old Charles Dillow. A family member says the two had been dating for more than a year.

Family members of the couple gathered in front of the mobile home and hugged as fire investigators worked to determine the exact cause.

A Fayette County deputy coroner says they believe it was a malfunctioning heater that may have caused the fire. Electric and kerosene heaters were found inside the mobile home.

The victims were found in a bedroom. A son of the female victim says he learned about the fire just after 3 a.m. He says he shared a cup of coffee with his mother Wednesday and had no idea it would be the last time he saw her.

The son also says he wants to know why there are no fire hydrants in the Strickland Estates Mobile Home Park.

Autopsies are scheduled for later today.
