Teen Allegedly Assaulted With Baseball Bat, Hospitalized

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- One teenager is in custody and another is in the hospital after he was allegedly beaten with a baseball bat in Beaver County Wednesday afternoon.

According to emergency officials, the assault was reported just after 2:30 p.m. on Griffith Street, near Jessie Walker Park, in Aliquippa.

Aliquippa Police arrested the juvenile later in the evening and charged him with beating the other teen.

Police say the suspect struck the 15-year-old boy in the head with the baseball bat. When officers got to the scene, they found the victim on the ground and unconscious.

He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.

Police aren't sure how the two juveniles know each other, or what started the fight.

The suspect, meanwhile, is being held in a juvenile detention center.

Police plan to release more information on their investigation Thursday.
