Pittsburgh Man Admits To Killing Witness In Brother's Case

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A Pittsburgh man has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in the killing of a teenager he expected to testify in a shooting case against his brother.

A judge sentenced 23-year-old Charles Stevens to up to 45 years behind bars Wednesday for fatally shooting 17-year-old Naytel Pack last year.

Authorities say Stevens shot Pack seven times in July 2014 in Nelson Mandela Peace Park in Pittsburgh's Garfield neighborhood because the teen was going to be a witness for the prosecution in another shooting case involving Stevens' bother, Tarue Johnson.

Johnson pleaded guilty to aggravated assault charges and was sentenced to two to six years in prison.
