Walmart App's Wish List Aims To Make Holiday Shopping Less Stressful

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - When you register at a store, you walk around with a scanner and zap all the things you want.

Now, Walmart is making it easy for holiday shoppers.

With an app, you can scan all the gifts you would love to receive. Then, you can share that list with your family and friends.

"So, it's kind of like a gift registry. Your kids can make a wish list for everything they want for Christmas and then they can send it to grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins," North Versailles Walmart Manager Karen Kallam said.

The feature is called Wish List and it's new to the Walmart app.

At the Walmart in North Versailles, Kallam showed KDKA-TV's Susan Koeppen how it works.

Susan: So you can literally just grab anything off a shelf and scan it.

Kallam: Hit scan, scan it, add it to the list.

The wish list feature has the scanner already built in for you to use. It will also bring up the product, the price, and where you can find it in the store.

Walmart said customers are looking for a stress-free holiday and they want shopping that's easy.

Koeppen asked customer Lawanda Foyle if she wanted to give the app a try while shopping for her 2-year-old daughter.

She went up and down the toy aisles looking for anything that caught her eye. When that was done, she was asked to think big about what she wanted for herself.

"I need a laptop that's what I would need," Foyle said.

When the list was completed, Walmart surprised Foyle with everything she added to it.

Foyle: Thank you, thank you.

Kallam: No problem it was fun to shop with you. you're welcome, you're welcome. Merry Christmas.
