Car Sought In Christmas Eve Slaying In Pittsburgh Found

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - Police in western Pennsylvania say they have found a car they were seeking in the shooting death of an 18-year-old gunned down on a Pittsburgh street on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called to the Garfield neighborhood shortly before noon Thursday and found a male victim in the middle of the street "with at least one gunshot wound to the head."

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified him as 18-year-old Carlos Clark. An autopsy is scheduled Saturday.

Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the shooting apparently stemmed from a large street fight.

Police were seeking a vehicle seen fleeing the scene, but Toler told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the vehicle was found unoccupied in nearby Highland Park on Christmas morning. No arrests have been reported or suspects identified.

Police also said a white GMC Yukon with a smashed-out window was part of the investigation.

"People have told us it was smashed out overnight, but we don't know where it fits into the puzzle," Toler said Thursday.
