Girl, 5, Sent To Hospital With Burns

SQUIRREL HILL (KDKA) -- A 5-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon after being burned in a house fire in Squirrel Hill.

According to a neighbor, the girl was in a bedroom on the second floor of a house in the 5900-block of Hobart Street where the fire broke out. Her parents were home at the time and put the fire out themselves.

They then reportedly rushed the young girl to the hospital. Hospital officials then called the police.

The cause of the fire and how the girl was burned is unclear.
