Woman Arrested After Taking Out Fire Hydrant With Her Car

NORTH SIDE (KDKA)- A woman is facing charges this morning after slamming into a fire hydrant with her car.

The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 600 block of Marshall Avenue in the Perry South neighborhood.

The crash completely sheared off the hydrant and sent it several feet down the sidewalk. The crash caused water to gush into the street.

Water crews were called to the scene to shut off the water.

The woman driving the car was not hurt. She was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.
