Ramon Foster: I Want To Come Back, But We'll See What Offers I Get

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Long-time Steelers offensive lineman and current free agent Ramon Foster joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Monday to talk about what his future might hold.

Foster said he hasn't had much of a chance to talk to the Steelers about a new contract yet, and that it might be time for him to him to start feeling out the open market.

"I'm not sure right now," Foster said. "The thing is that the Steelers have a lot of stuff that they have to take care of, and me being a free agent, that's an open market opportunity right there."

Foster feels that his work speaks for itself, and that he wants to capitalize on it and get paid what he deserves to make.

"This will be my last time around as far as a contract and stuff, so it's important for it to be done right," Foster said. "That's my thing. My body of work, I think it's been just, I think it's been firm, and we'll see what happens. We'll see what kind of deals come towards my way."

Getting the right deal is especially important to Foster because this will likely end up being his best chance to ink a big contract.

"For most athletes, when it's your last time around, of course this will be the most money anybody will make in their entire life, as far as playing football...you've got to take that opportunity when it's there," Foster said. "I'm sure the Steelers will do their part, as far as coming to the table with something nice."

Foster explained that he wants to stay in Pittsburgh, but not so much so that he's willing to take whatever offer the Steelers give him.

"I love being in Pittsburgh," Foster said. "But, the situation, the business part of this sport...it can get kind of cringe-y with everything that goes into it."

"It's definitely a home feel there," Foster later added. "But, the situation has to be right."
