18-Year-Old Arrested for Shooting At Workers In Lincoln-Lemington

LINCOLN-LEMINGTON (KDKA) – Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting targeting a group of construction workers in Lincoln-Lemington Monday morning.

According to police, the incident took place at a vacant home in the 7100 block of Verona Boulevard around 9 a.m.

The incident began when three construction workers arrived at the house Monday morning. They were there to do repairs and weatherization. The workers are employed by a company that secures properties for the bank when the home is repossesed.

The workers were told the home would be vacant. When they arrived, they knocked on the door and identified themselves. When they entered the home, they found a man inside holding a gun. According to the criminal complaint, Marcus McBride said "Oh hell no" and began chasing the workers.

Shots were fired at the workers as they scrambled away from the home. One of them was hit in the hand and taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital for treatment. He's in stable condition.

"They dove for cover behind their work vehicle and one of them as I already said was shot. We began calling out SWAT," Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.

SWAT was able to clear the home and the suspect was nowhere to be found. Police found at least six shell casings between the front porch and inside the front door.

Several neighbors were alarmed by the loud noise.

"I heard this 'bang, bang'! It shook the whole house and I woke up," said one neighbor. "I thought we were in a god darn war zone."

The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Marcus McBride. The victims were able to identify him in a photo lineup. McBride turned himself into the Shuman Center Monday night.

McBride faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
