Truck Flips In Yard In West Mifflin, Neighbors Tired Of All The Crashes

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA)- A pickup truck ran off the road and flipped over in a yard in West Mifflin early Monday morning.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. along Brierly Lane in West Mifflin.

"I was getting ready to go to bed," said neighbor Bob Bolster. "I heard this big crash, well I knew exactly what happened. I looked out the window and that car was in my yard."

Paramedics had to pull Sean Yates, 23, of Turtle Creek, from the truck. He was rushed to a local hospital, but there is no word on his current condition.

"I heard, 'Help, help,' and then I ran over and a man and a man was trapped underneath a truck with his arm underneath the truck," Chuck Page said.

Bolster has lived along Brierly Lane for 47 years. He says he has seen these crashes along the road way too many times.

"They come barreling and they can't negotiate this turn, the curve in the road," he said.

Bolster said he has tried to get the speed limit reduced on the road and to have more guardrails installed.

"This is a state road, we've been trying to get the state to do something. And West Mifflin won't take care of it and Munhall doesn't maintain it either," he said.

While the truck ended up in Bolster's yard, it was Page's private guardrail and wall that took the biggest hit in the crash. He installed it about eight months ago.

In September, a car crashed through that wall during a police chase. Then, there was a similar crash just over a month ago. Each time, Page's wall was wrecked.

"It was $15,000 originally. The first repair was $25,000 and this last one was $20,000," Page said.
