Furry Tails: Shamrock, Chipz & Pinkie Are Waiting For Forever Homes

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Shamrock

Animal Friends

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, this little lady pretty much "sham-rocks"! Shamrock is a shy and sweet girl who needs a family that will give her lots of love!

Animal Friends Pet Profile:
Shamrock is a sweet and shy girl, but she warms up into a lovely bunny. She is gentle and sweet with those she knows and gets along well with our other resident rabbits in our BunRuns. Due to her shy nature, she needs to go home to a family with older, respectful children that will be patient with her as she adjusts to her new household. Shamrock enjoys the company of other rabbits and would do well in a house with another outgoing bunny to make her more comfortable. But she's also content with just loving humans to interact with.

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!

Pinkie

Animal Rescue League

Pinkie is a sweet dog in need of a best friend, or maybe a few best friends! This girl loves to learn and play and be adorable! And she'd really like to go home with you forever!

Animal Rescue League's Pet Profile:
This sweet pup is Pinkie and she is just about the friendliest girl you are ever going to meet! When you approach this pooch, her tail starts to waggle, her butt starts to wiggle, and she is so happy to see you! Pinkie loves everyone she meets; she's lived with children in the past and was great with them. She is reported to be house trained, and with guidance from her new family, we expect that this will easily carry over to her new home. Pinkie is intelligent and already knows the command "down." She's also currently enrolled in training class while at the shelter so she can learn more! Pinkie enjoys Nylabones and rawhide, as well as playing tug and chase. She is attentive, curious, and very affectionate.

For more information on the other adoptable animals at the shelter, visit www.animalrescue.org. The Animal Rescue League is located at 6620 Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Chipz

Western Pa. Humane Society

Chipz may be an older gal, but she's a puppy at heart! She needs a family who can help her learn to act like a proper lady, and, of course, provide her with a lot of love.

Western Pa. Humane Society's Pet Profile:
Hi my name is Chipz!!! Thank you for looking at my picture! I just arrived at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, and the staff here is in the process of getting to know me so they can write my profile. I am a very social dog that loves people and loves to seek attention. I am told I walk very nice on a leash!! Although I am a little older I am still very playful and still have puppyish behavior!! When I play with toys sometimes I don't realize how easy I'm supposed to take from your hand, so I need a little training with manners that can easily be fixed by hand feeding me, just ask a staff member about the benefits of hand feeding. Because I need manners with my toy playing I need to go home with kids 12 and older. I could go to a multi-dog home pending a successful meet and greet. What I can tell you is that I have been behaviorally and medically evaluated, altered, microchipped, and am up to date on all my vaccinations. The staff is getting me all ready to go home with someone wonderful… maybe you?

Even though I have been here for a very short time, the two-leggers who work and volunteer here have been extra nice and kind to me. I am getting lots of love and attention from our staff and volunteers.
