Man Charged With Harboring, Having Inappropriate Relationship With Runaway

DERRY BOROUGH (KDKA) -- A Westmoreland County man is now behind bars after being accused of harboring a teenage runaway and having an inappropriate relationship with her.

Michael Rosebosky, 24, is charged with statutory sexual assault, interfering with the custody of a runaway and making fictitious reports.

According to Derry Borough Police, Rosebosky was romantically involved with a 15-year-old girl who had run away from her home in the borough.

When officers received word that the girl was at Rosebosky's mother's home in Derry Township, they went to picked her up. However, she ran away again.

Officials say she was once again with Rosebosky, but this time in a Derry Borough apartment rented by another man who became suspicious of Rosebosky's relationship while they were visiting.

"He received some messages through social media that the female that was at his residence may be the runaway we'd been looking for," said Derry Borough Police Chief Randy Glick. "He called down to the station."

It was a huge break in the case. Officers found the girl, and eventually arrested Rosebosky.

"If you think something's not right, it's a good chance it's not right," said Chief Glick.

Police had their suspicions about the girl's whereabouts, but police say Rosebosky allegedly kept feeding them a lie.

"I tried to reach out to him earlier, and work with him, but he chose to lead us in the wrong direction," Chief Glick said.

In the end though, it didn't work and Rosebosky was taken into custody.

He is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail on $12,000 straight cash bond.
