Man Stabbed In Stomach On Street In Knoxville

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man is recovering after being stabbed on the street in Knoxville.

Police say it happened just before 1 a.m. Thursday on Knox Avenue.

Investigators say a 28-year-old man was walking near Rochelle Street when two men approached him from behind. One of the men asked him for a cigarette and then quickly rushed toward him. He was stabbed by one of the individuals.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the stomach and to the hand.

He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital and is expected to recover.

Police have not released any suspect information.
