8-Foot Snake Wraps Itself Around SUV In Beaver Parking Lot

BEAVER (KDKA) -- People at a WesBanco in Beaver were given quite a scare Thursday.

It happened around 10:30 at the business on Corporation Street.

According to the Beaver County Times, a woman called police when she found an eight-foot snake snuggling up to her SUV in the parking lot.

"I'm deathly afraid of snakes," said Patricia Russell of Pulaski Township.

Luckily, officers were able to wrap up the situation quickly.

"It had to be someone's pet," said Jeff Wijnen-Riems, a Beaver police officer. "I grabbed it with a noose."

The snake was taken to Aquatic Gardens in Beaver Falls. Pet shop owner Rick Glitsch said the carpet python is harmless to humans, but may not survive because it appeared to be run over by a lawn mower.

Glitsch said he would attempt to nurse the creature back to health.
