Westmoreland County Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting At Least 3 Girls

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- State Police say a 20-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting at least three girls is now in custody.

Nicholas Cook is charged with several counts of rape, aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, and corruption of minors.

Police say the investigation into Cook started on June 3, when a 14-year-old girl was found intoxicated, lying in a parking lot in Swede Hill Park in Hempfield Township. According to court papers, the girl told officers she had been with Cook throughout the day. He allegedly gave her alcohol, took her back to his Greensburg apartment and started to touch her in a sexual way.  She said he dropped her off in the park after the assault.

Through an investigation, officers say they learned this same victim was assaulted three other times by Cook. Each time, he's accused of giving the victim drugs and alcohol before forcing himself on her. The victim says because of his size, once Cook was on top of her, it was hard to push him away.

State Police say through their investigation, they interviewed a 13-year-old girl who also says she was assaulted by Cook. She told investigators Cook gave her alcohol and then performed sex acts on her. She says she kept telling him to stop and it was also hard for her to fight him off because of his size.

According to court papers, a third victim told police she was assaulted by Cook when she was 12 years old back in 2013.

Police say Cook would meet and hang out with the girls at the Westmoreland Mall and parks in Greensburg and Latrobe, including the Old Athletic Field, and Legion-Keener Park. They say he hangs out with a lot of younger girls and there could be other victims who haven't come forward yet.

Anyone who might have been a victim is asked to call the State Police barracks in Greensburg at (724)-832-3240.
