Driver Crashes Into Greensburg Building, Flees Scene

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- A car crashed into the side of a Greensburg restaurant Saturday afternoon and then fled the scene of the accident.

A driver struck the side of a building housing My Sister's Bistro and another restaurant on State Route 22 in the early afternoon. He then drove away from the scene of the crash. Multiple people were inside the building at the time of the crash. A witness took down the vehicle's license plate number, which helped police find him.

"I was in the kitchen cooking when I heard a huge crash, and I came out of the kitchen into the dining room," Theresa Mele, co-owner of My Sister's Bistro, said. "There was a customer here. I said, 'What happened?' I noticed some things were off the wall. And he said, 'Somebody hit the building.'"

The name of the driver has not been released, and the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

The building sustained some damage, but no one was hurt.
