Donald Trump Tells Mother, Crying Baby To Leave Rally In Virginia

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told a mother and her crying child to leave his rally in Virginia on Tuesday, moments after he complimented them.

According to Sopan Deb, a CBS News reporter covering the Trump campaign, Trump was speaking to a crowd in Auburn, Virginia when he stopped to acknowledge a crying baby in the crowd.

"I love babies. I hear that baby crying. I like it," Trump said.

Trump then told the baby's mother not to worry. "It's young and beautiful and healthy and that's what we want," he went on to say.

The Republican nominee then continued to speak about economics when the baby started to cry again.

"Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here," he said. "I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I'm speaking."

Deb posted a transcript of the candidate's remarks.
