Man Charged With Alleged Sexual Assault Of 6-Year-Old Girl

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) – A 27-year-old Aliquippa man is in the Beaver County Jail Tuesday night facing a number of charges, including raping a six-year-old girl he was caring for.

"I just thought it was so disgusting because I knew him personally, to talk to all the time," resident Caprice Pope said.

Pope lives in Linmar Terrace, an Aliquippa public housing plan. Pope is talking about 27-year-old Keshmar Sims.

Sims allegedly sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl who he was caring for last week.

Detective Sgt. Steven Roberts of the Aliquippa Police says the child told her grandmother.

"We first got this case as the grandmother, who is the victim's guardian, took the child to Children's Hospital for treatment for a possible sexual assault," Roberts said.

According to the criminal complaint, the sexual assault happened at Linmar Terrace. According to police, when they searched the house, they found some of the evidence the child had described – a blue washcloth in the bathroom. The child told police the cloth was used to clean her after the assault.

Police say Sims did not admit to the assault, but did have two cell phones, which he said had pornographic videos on them. Videos, the little girl says, he showed her and asked her to perform the sexual acts she saw. She refused, calling it "gross."

Sims is housed in the Beaver County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He has a preliminary hearing in the Beaver County court Tuesday, Aug. 16.
