'Nacho Man' Talks The Face Full Of Cheese Seen 'Round The World

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Wednesday night. PNC Park. A foul ball into the right field seats has unexpected consequences.

Crawley: So what happened?

Hineman: I had the nachos in my right hand and I went for the ball with my left hand and the momentum brought it basically into my face.

Korey Hineman of Penn Hills gained a measure of fame when he wound up with nachos all over his face.

"I had the nachos in one hand, the drink in the other, and I was trying to squeeze through the narrow aisle to my seat," he explains.  "I didn't even hear the ball get hit, but everyone around me was yelling that the ball was coming! And I just went for it on instinct."

His girl friend, Hannah Leof, gently wiped his face.

There is a happy ending. The Pirates replenished his nachos, gave him a pair of new shirts, and a ball to replace the one that got away.

Crawley: You gonna frame this now?

Hineman: I guess so. I can't wash it. Maybe I'll wear it to a game and see if anyone notices me.
