Cops: Woman Fatally Stabbed Husband Who Said He "Didn't Need Her Anymore"

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP/KDKA) - A Pennsylvania woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband during a domestic dispute has been jailed on a charge of criminal homicide.

Bethlehem police say 57-year-old Kathleen Herencia told them she was upset that 66-year-old Roger Herencia said he didn't need her anymore.

Police say they found the man with several stab wounds to his back and chest when they responded to a reported domestic disturbance about 3 p.m. Sunday.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says the man died from his wounds at St. Luke's University Hospital.

According to Lehigh Valley Live, Kathleen Herencia was in a bloody nightgown, with wounds to her arms and legs. In a later interview with police, the woman reportedly said she cut herself, and her husband did not cut her.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Kathleen Herencia, who remained jailed without bond Monday. She faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 22.
