David Jeffers allegedly dragged a mattress into the living room and tossed it on top of Jonathan Jeffers' 6-year-old daughter, who was sleeping on a couch.

Jonathan told police he pushed his brother in an attempt to protect his child. David reportedly became "enraged," punching Jonathan in the face, striking him in the neck with a pair of scissors and threatening to kill his daughter.

Finally, David allegedly threw the scissors at Jonathan, hitting him in the face.

Throughout the entire dispute, Jonathan had a pistol on his person, but stated he did not threaten to use it against his brother.

Neighbors were stunned when they heard of the incident.

"I can't believe it, honest," said one man. "That's terrible, that's really terrible, something like that happening just a few houses away from me."

David Jeffers was placed under arrest for aggravated assault and domestic violence. He was taken to the Westmoreland County Jail.
