Man Shot During Baldwin Home Invasion, 2 Suspects Sought

BALDWIN (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a man was shot during a home invasion in Baldwin Friday morning.

According to police, the incident happened at a home in the 300 block of Cedar Street around 1 a.m.

Two African-American males entered the home and demanded money and drugs from those inside.

"Two black males entered the residence there, armed with firearms, demanded money and/or drugs from the occupants of the home," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

Shortly after, a 33-year-old male resident was shot. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for an injury to the head that is not believed to be life threatening.

Police say the suspects took off after the shooting.  It's not clear if they left on foot or in a vehicle.

"They left with something. We're not sure what at this point," Schurman said. "Detectives did take a car from the scene, but I can't speak to that at the moment."

A description of the suspects has not been made available at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Allegheny County Police at (412)-473-1300.
