Vehicles Vandalized At Auto Repair Shop On North Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are looking for the vandals who damaged several cars on the North Side over the weekend.

Rims and tires were stolen from vehicles at Land Auto Repair on Flocker Street early Saturday morning.

Other cars had broken windows. In total, 16 cars were damaged.

Owner Alan Land said his love for cars started in elementary school and now he's faced with a tough decision.

"I'll probably have to close up. This really hurts, ya know," Land said.

He said his heart broke when he first saw the destruction.

"I saw that van back there, the door was open and I started walking through and started seeing windows broken and wheels missing," he said.

22 tire rims were missing, 16 batteries stolen.

"The aluminum rims on the cars. They're stealing them cause they're about 11 dollars a piece. Then the batteries. They can get 7 or 8 dollars a piece, so it's all scrap you know," Land said.
