Video: Woman, EMT Trade Blows In North Versailles

NORTH VERSAILLES (KDKA) -- It was Saturday afternoon when a fight between two drivers broke out in North Vesailles. It happened right off of the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Brinton Road. A passerby caught the altercation on cell phone video.

"It was super, ultra odd that the ambulance driver was involved, I guess it was the driver," Brian Dougherty said.

According to a police criminal complaint, Patricia Thompson of Wilkinsburg, approached the driver of the ambulance and alleged her SUV had been hit by the ambulance.

The ambulance driver, identified as a Holly Heatherdale, told police she wasn't aware she hit the car. But that's when the fight started. Dougherty described the scene.

"There was quite a few people. It was hard to tell what was going on. There was quite a few people. You know there was ppl from other cars there, people running around during the whole thing."

Heatherdale, dressed in her uniform, told police Thompson was the aggressor. Opening the ambulance door and pulling her out. Then according to the complaint, Heatherdale says Thompson began to hit her in the face and and shoulder area. Dougherty did not see how the fight started.

"I didn't see anybody actually pull anybody from the car but I did see flying and fists flailing," he said.

Police were called to the scene. Thompson called 911 and reported a hit-and-run accident. When police arrived, Thompson was charged with aggravated assault, harassment and simple assault.

The ambulance company is based in Dubois. No one answered calls to their office Sunday night.
