Report: Infant Allegedly Shaken By Father Dies At Hospital

FRIEDENS (KDKA) -- An infant allegedly shaken by her father in Somerset County has reportedly died.

According to the Tribune-Review, the 3-month-old died at Children's Hospital Sunday night.

The child had been in the hospital since Sept. 25, when she was airlifted from Somerset Hospital in Somerset.

The infant's father, Brandon Scott Leer, 23, has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a child under age 13, simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and reckless endangering.

Leer allegedly shook the baby girl because she wouldn't stop crying, causing a severe brain injury.

He told investigators that he tripped, causing the baby to strike a corner table.
