Report: Texas Teen Lived With Murdered Grandparents For Days

CHAMBERS COUNTY, TEXAS (KDKA) -- A 14-year-old is accused of murdering his grandparents in Texas.

According to CBS affiliate KHOU, Chambers County Sheriff's Office detectives say the boy not only killed Sandra and Chester Bienek in their sleep, but also lived inside the house with their bodies for days.

The teen allegedly tried to impersonate his dead grandfather when a concerned principal began to investigate.

First, the principal came to the home in person when the boy hadn't been at school for two consecutive days. The teen said that he had been missing school because he was sick, and that his grandparents were shopping.

When the principal called later that day, the story began to unravel.

"The student answered the phone at one point and tried to act as if he was the grandfather," explained Sheriff Brian Hawthorne. "The principal knew it was the student. He continued to press the student...He came back on the phone crying and said grandma had blood on her."

When police arrived, they found the couple tucked into their beds. Both had been shot in the head.

Investigators said teen has not confessed. However, Sheriff Hawthorne said there is strong physical and circumstantial evidence connecting him to the murders.

The 14-year-old faces two counts of capital murder. He's being held in a juvenile detention center awaiting a court appearance next week.
