Arrest Warrant Issued After 20-Plus Shots Fired Into West Mifflin Home

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) – An arrest warrant has been issued after more than 20 shots were fired into a West Mifflin home last week.

The incident happened at a home on Glencairn Street around 3 a.m. on Oct. 14.

Now, an arrest warrant has been issued for 25-year-old Christopher Cunningham. He is facing a list of charges including, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

According to police, the incident started as a result of a drug deal.

Prior to the shooting, Cunningham met with one of the victims. During the meeting, Cunningham gave the victim $1,000 for molly. The victim left the house in order to obtain the drugs. After several hours and no contact from the victim, Cunningham allegedly became angry.

A witness told police that Cunningham picked up two African-American men with guns and drove to the victim's home in West Mifflin. When they arrived, the two armed men got out, knocked on the door and opened fire. At that time, the gunmen ran back to the car and sped away.

Later, the victim told police they initially intended to return the money when they were unable to obtain the drugs. They also said they didn't initially tell officers about the money because they didn't want to get in trouble for selling drugs.

The homeowner, Eric Chedwick, said he was sleeping on the living room couch when the shooting started.

Chedwick said his wife and their daughter's 3-month-old baby were sleeping in a bedroom. The daughter and her boyfriend were in their own bedroom.

"Those bullets were a foot away from where my baby was," Chedwick said.

On Saturday, West Mifflin Borough Police said they were also searching for Shawn O'Leary in connection to a shooting.
