Mother Attacks Babysitter For Allegedly Leaving Kids Home Alone

VANDERGRIFT (KDKA) – A mother and a babysitter got into a physical fight at a Vandergrift home Sunday night when the babysitter allegedly left the mother's three kids home alone.

Haley Oglietti bears the cuts and bruises of an all-out brawl because that's exactly what she was in.

"I didn't go down without a fight, that's all I can say," she said.

Vandergrift Police say Oglietti confronted her neighbor Justina Shay Harrison after Harrison allegedly left Oglietti's three kids when she was supposed to be babysitting them.

"She went straight over there, 'cause she left them," Oglietti said. "I knew she'd be home so I was coming over there, like, 'Why did you leave my kids?'"

According to the criminal complaint, Oglietti's fist started to fly, as did something else – a knife.

"She threw [a knife] straight down the steps at me," Oglietti said.

Oglietti was apparently out having some beers when Harrison, who would not appear on camera, told her to get home. One of her children wouldn't stop crying.

"And like, legit, after I text her that, it took only 10 minutes to get home," Oglietti said.

Harrison even admitted off-camera to telling Oglietti the police were at the house when they weren't.

"It irritated me to say, 'You lied and left my kids alone.' Why would you do that? I don't understand why you would do that?"

Harrison also said she never left the kids; she just went out the back door when Oglietti came home.

"Well, if she did, that's possible, but I did not see her go out of my back door," Oglietti said.

The battle on Lowell Street ended when police arrived to find both combatants laying on Harrison's porch, pulling each other's hair and whaling away on each other.

Police finally broke up the fight, arresting both women on assault and child endangerment counts.

"Irritated with the situation 'cause I thought I could trust her," Oglietti said.

Both are free on bond, awaiting a preliminary hearing in the next couple weeks.
